Students are welcome at the Vineyard

The Wharfedale Vineyard is a growing, friendly church based in and around Leeds. We have a full programme of activities both within the community of the church and outside in the communities in which we live. The best way to find out who we are, what is going on, when and where, is to surf to our website www.wharfedale-vineyard.org. You can also call the Vineyard Centre on 0113 245 9111. Wharfedale Vineyard is a group on Facebook - easy to find by searching for our name. There is a also a facebook group for students and those in their twenties which you can join to find out what we up to!

Sundays for Students

On Sundays you are invited to weekly worship at Carr Manor High School in the morning at 10.30 am or to the Gathering at the Vineyard Centre in the evening at 7.30pm. This is an opportunity to join with the rest of the Vineyard  and meet other students and people from the Vineyard who are involved with students in Leeds in various ways.

Transport

If you need help with transport please let us know as we can let you know the easiest way to get to us from where you live.

Housegroups

We have a range of housegroups of different types and in different areas of Leeds that meet on a midweek evening. You are welcome to try several to find a group that suits you.

On the Streets

Most Saturday mornings a team go on the streets of Leeds serving coffee & sandwiches to, and praying for homeless people and the Big Issue sellers. If this is something in which you would like to be involved call the Vineyard Centre on 0113 245 9111 (ask for Anne Button).

Communication

You can sign up to our regular news email which tells you what is going on in the Vineyard and is the main way by which we share news. Otherwise give us your postal address so that we can send you hard copies if you prefer.

Leeds is a great city and you can have a wonderful time here as a student. However, it can also be a big, impersonal and lonely place. Being part of a community of faith like the Vineyard will help you belong and find somewhere to be safe.

If you are not familiar with the Vineyard we would describe ourselves as relaxed and contemporary. We are conservative in theology (in other words we believe what the bible says) and radical in practice. Worship, praying for the sick and ministry with the poor are high priorities for us. You will find it easy to join in and make friends but we also place a high value on providing the opportunity to "opt out" without losing touch with the church community.

If you would like to visit us and find out more you are very, very welcome.
