Praying
Prayer is important in our community. We value being a group of people who pray and depend upon God and not our own collective skills and abilities. We pray at every opportunity when we gather be it on Sundays or in housegroups or whenever.
What does the bible say? why is it important?
Here are some ways in which you can join in (although we encourage you to pray on a regular basis on your own too):
- Pre - weekly worship prayer - a group of people meet together at Carr Manor High School at 10am before weekly worship each Sunday to pray for the service and seek words of knowledge. Everyone is welcome to join in.
- Every Friday morning, during term time, there is prayer breakfast in the Vineyard Centre from 7.45-8.45am.
-
-
Saturday morning on a “week 1” weekend 'Other People, Other Places' meet at Valerie and Felix Posselts house for breakfast from 8.45a.m until 10am to pray for people going on trips to minister to other people in other places and for the projects in other places that we have links with. Contact Matt Button for more information.
-
- We encourage individuals to meet in twos or threes to pray regularly for each other and for our community.
- We encourage bandsatwork to form in the workplaces of our people.
- At the beginning of each Academic and new year we have a time of prayer and fasting.
- From time to time we set up a multi-sensory prayer environment. It is set up for a period of time to allow people to spend an extended time engaged in private prayer, with the help of installations and various expressive media. This is sometimes part of the 24-7 room or within other events.
If you would like to establish a time to pray together nearer where you live on a regular basis or have other ideas about how we could pray - please contact Hazel Faulkes. |
