Steps giveaway - October 2007

A "Giveaway" group met on the 2nd October to review proposals for the distribution of the giveaway funds from the Steps campaign - so far.

We have nearly £40,000 to giveaway at this point (more pledged Steps monies are coming in from time to time so there will be more giveaway in the future).

The group looked at some 16 projects put forward by various people in the Vineyard. We then spent some time praying and asking the Lord for direction. It became clear that for this round of the giveaway we should focus on Leeds and on children and young people.

Therefore the majority of the funds available will be given to: Leeds Faith in Schools (Sarah Byde), Kidz Klub (Esther Dowling) and the Sierra Leone Young People's Mission Direct trip (Andrew Aldwinkle). Smaller amounts will be given to: St George's Crypt and Spacious Places (Matt and Anne Button), Caring for Life (Jason Procter), Home Start support for women coming out of prison (Cyndy Dowling), To All Nations/Servant Evangelism (Andrew Aldwinkle), Oastler Centre (David Flowers).
