South Africa trip
Alex, Karen, Tim & Pete Griffin and Matt & Anne Button are going to South Africa from 31 March – 14 April 2007 to volunteer at Emthonjeni, an AIDs project in an informal settlement near Soweto.
Aims of our trip
We intend to go with a servant heart willing to serve and ready to learn. We intend to get alongside people and projects helping and encouraging them in their discipling of their nation!
We are not trying to change the world We are not going over there with a spiritual superiority complex
What will we be doing?
Volunteering at Emthonjeni HIV project - providing practical help, financial provision, encouragement and support Visiting the local Vineyard churches Spending time building relationships with the people and projects we meet Being challenged as we hear from God
And finally… Going on a short safari – relaxing after working hard!
How can you support us?
Praying For safety while we are out there That God would use us to increase His Kingdom.
Financially To raise money for the trip Alex, Matt & Anne will between them be completing 3 Olympic length triathlons (4.5km swimming, 30km running, 120km cycling in total). To sponsor them please click here.
Matt & Anne have now completed their swimming and running, with Alex's cycling set to happen this Saturday (17 March). Please send your sponsorship money in as soon as possible!
Karen is making greeting cards to sell - £1.50 per card (4 for £5).
Keep an eye out for sponsorship forms and cards for sale at weekly worship and the gathering!
All money raised will be split equally between the costs of getting out to South Africa and a gift for Emthonjeni.
