Provisions for child protection, disability and vulnerable people

We aim to be a place where children are safe, where people with disabilities and vulnerable people can join in too. The Wharfedale Vineyard is largely a voluntary organisation. It is funded by the giving of the people who call this their community of faith. Therefore our resources are limited. We undertake to provide the following to the best of our resources:
  1. In hiring venues for our events we try, where possible, to use buildings that have good provision for disabled access, hard of hearing and sight;
  2. Our web site will be developed to assist the visually impaired;
  3. Our printed literature is available in large print where requested;
  4. All children's workers and the leadership team are periodically checked by the CRB;
  5. Experienced and professionally qualified teachers and youth workers are included in our children and young people teams;
  6. Where children's activities are supervised we require parents/guardians to sign the children in and out;
  7. We welcome people with special needs (dietary, behavioural etc) of any age and we require their carers to take full responsibility for them whilst with us. We do not have sufficient resources, staff or volunteers to provide specialist care.
