A first experience of Revive 2006
Revive 2006 came at just the right time for us. We’d been coming to Wharfedale Vineyard since the start of weekly worship earlier in the year. Although as a family it had taken us a while to come along to Wharfedale we were already beginning to wish we’d done it sooner.
Our hope was that Revive would be an opportunity to get to know people better and to have a whole lot more worship and ministry.
And it was. From arriving on the Friday night we were made to feel both welcomed and relaxed – and that was the mood that stayed the whole weekend. From putting up tents to sharing cooking everybody seemed to muck in.
We were able to spend plenty of time both with those we already knew and importantly making some new friends. Our children enjoyed both the freedom to run around and play as well as the excellent work laid on for them. We felt they were safe and glad to see them happy.
The worship was loud – and quite grungy - but in true Vineyard style brought us close to our Father in a wonderfully relaxed style.
It was our first experience of Simon Ponsonby’s teaching but we enjoyed it. Majoring on Spiritual gifts and Spiritual passion we both took nuggets home from his messages. Importantly God met with us and continued his work with us – and we had the joy of seeing that happening in others.
