New to Vineyard

A new website for Wharfedale Vineyard

Enclosed with the most recent paper newsletter you will have found a new format of address list, which includes photos for the first time. We are hoping this will help people to get to know each other.

The new address list was produced by the new church administration system – the WebOffice – which is also the heart of our new website. Thank you to the people who have joined in the trial over the past few weeks and helped us put it through its paces. Not all the webpages are completed yet, but if you would like to take a look, just register using the link below the menu bar and we will send you a username and password. Some of the new features are:
  • An online address book, protected by passwords and visible only to Wharfedale people. The triallists have been extremely enthusiastic about this.
  • Forums that everyone can contribute to – check out the "Prayer Forum"; "Offers and Needs"; “In the pipeline” gives an early view of what might be happening in the future at Wharfedale.
  • The ability to download talks and videos to your computer or iPod – the first example is Alison’s talk about Creativity from the Vine in July - and Alex, Roman and Laurence have been working on getting the PA technology we need to do proper digital recordings.
  • Anyone can contribute an article for the website online (they are checked before going live) – so this is a great time for you to expand the Creative Gallery, become a journalist about Wharfedale events or write up some stories of what God has done – check out Chris Thompson’s ‘Chocolate story’.

We would love to have some help to move all the pages from our existing website to the new one. It is not a particularly technical job, just needs a couple of people with broadband who could systematically copy from one to the other – it does involve quite a lot of hours on your computer over the next few weeks! Please volunteer to Anne Button or David Wallace via the office email if you can help.
