Movember Launch Night

On Thursday 3 November we will held our annual Curry and Quiz night (just for the blokes!) in aid of the Prostate Cancer Charity.

It was a fun and relaxed evening and a great opportunity to get together for a good cause.
Although some of the men are planning to be sponsored to grow a 'mo' during November, we did this event at the start of the month so that you don't have to promise to grow a 'mo' to come along!

What is Movember?

Movember is about raising awareness and money for prostate cancer in the UK. This is done by putting on events such as the one we are doing and also sponsoring people to grow a moustache (“The Mo”) in the month of November, hence Movember. A number of people in Wharfedale have volunteered to grow a moustache in November.

Here's how you join in:

Signing up to the team
To register on the Movember website and join the Wharfedale Vineyard team follow these instructions:

Click on http://uk.movember.com/get-involved/ to go to the signup page
Select “Register to participate”
Select “A man who wants to grow a moustache...”
Select the “Join a team” option
Then click on “Join as a team member” and complete your details
Our team name is “Wharfedale Vineyard”

Donations
If you wish to donate money yourself, or will be asking others to give:

You have the options to donate to an individual or to the team.
Once you are registered, people will be able to find you by typing in your name.
They can donate to our team by searching for ‘Wharfedale Vineyard’ under the team option

(all money goes directly to Movember – they don’t use a third party company to collect on their behalf)

This is a great opportunity for the men of Wharfedale to get together and also invite our friends and colleagues to get involved as well. All profits raised from tickets and the bar go directly to the Prostate Cancer Charity.
