Reusing resources for parents

On Tuesday 16 March, 8pm at the Vineyard Centre, we are having a meeting to get together the various people who have an interest in initiatives relating to parenting.

Belly Buttons and Friday Night Parents, Ashburnham seminars and other initiatives and professional capabilities have created a wealth of resources in the area of parenting here at the Vineyard.  People have prepared talks, led workshops and seminars, worked professionally with families and gained experience in their own situations. Surely there are some ways we can start to reuse those resources?

The agenda for the evening is:
  • to think about our cultural context when it comes to being a parent (Supernanny, statutory agencies, how parents learn and seek help)
  • to pray and share ideas, vision and opportunities where initiatives might be created and bridges built
  • to make a list of the resources and capabilities we have that could be reused (previous talks and workshops we've done; we may sample a 30-minute segment of "The Parenting Course" video from Holy Trinity Brompton; we have a large pile of books on different aspects of parenting)
It may take a little time for ideas to come to fruition, but perhaps seeds need to be planted now.

Please respond below if you are interested in this and indicate whether you can come to the meeting.
