Frequently Asked Questions
Breakfasts for campers
Q: Is there an option for breakfast in the house for campers?
A: If you have booked to have all your meals in the house we are delighted to advise that this now includes breakfast too - at no extra cost!
Refunds
Q: What refund can I get if I cancel?
A: If you cancel between November 2010 and January 2011 the refund is 75%. Between February and April 2011 it is 50%. Between May and June 2011 it is 25%. After June 2011 the full amount is payable. Our refund terms are shown in the booking process. One point of clarification is that the percentage refunded is applied to the overall booking cost, not just the amount that has been paid. This is because if you are forced to cancel that may leave us little time to re-fill a place for which we have to pay for anyway. If you have given some additional funds toward Ashburnham we will endeavour to refund it to you by increasing the refund on your actual booking (unless you advise otherwise - i.e. you can give it to the fund anyway). Please note however that if we manage to gain another booking to fill your place and if we finish the holiday in surplus, we will try and refund you some or all of any amount not refunded when you originally cancelled.
Subsidised places
Q: Will Ashburnham pay for someone who can't afford to go using surplus or donated funds?
A: We regularly get asked to help people get to Ashburnham by subsidising their costs from any surplus funds we have. It is worth noting that until Ashburnham is over we don't actually know how much surplus there is, if any. This usually goes by way of honorarium to the people who have worked voluntarily and some is carried over to the next Ashburnham. Occasionally, we can draw on this fund to help people who have no other way of getting to Ashburnham.
However, we first suggest the following options are considered to help someone come to Ashburnham who may not be able to afford to do so on their own.
1. They can volunteer to help on the team. This may provide a subsidised place depending upon the role. 2. You can help them by paying for some or all of their holiday. 3. Their church community can rally round and provide some subsidy. 4. For people without enough supportive family, friends or church we may be able to call on some of the extra funds that have been given by others. If this is needed please call Claire and give her as much information as possible to help the trustees make a fair decision.
If you have any questions please email the administrator at ashburnham@wharfedale-vineyard.org.
