Wharfedale Vineyard

Poems

I have been moved to write a few poems over a few years now, and thought perhaps it would be good to share some with the Wharfdale Vineyard family. So here goes!

This one I wrote after one of the many burglaries in Johannesburg and our dear friends from Valley Vineyard there took us to their home for a couple of days.

A heart that throbs with love
Arms that long to enfold
Precious Divine Savior
Only you can descend like a dove.

Gentle on the wounded spirit
Resting on the aching heart
Soothing every thought and feeling
Draw me closer not in part.

Let me feel your gentle breath
The warmth of your divine spirit flow
Into my very depths
Make my spirit glow.

Jesus how would i survive
Without you by my side
Showing through your loving touch
Those around me giving much

Words will never be enough
Earthly embraces only a touch
Compared with the love to be rvealed
When in glory we all shall kneel

Come gentle spirit fill me up
Let your glory fill my cup
Then let it overflow
Till it reaches a world full of woe.
