Emily is going to Zambia
First of all, I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped me get to India last summer. Having had such an amazing time I feel called to go on a longer term mission where I can share my faith and passion for God, something I was unable to do explicitly in India.
After my exams next year I'm taking a gap year, I'm going to be working for Mission Direct as a staff member in Zambia from June - October 2009 (along the same lines as what Josh did in Cambodia.) I'm going to be overseeing teams of volunteers and helping with the projects and the most exciting part...sharing the love of God with the people of Zambia. I have a real heart fo the people who have so little. They may be poor but they have a burning passion for life. We can learn so much from them.
I'm fundraising £3000 to make the trip possible and would really appreciate any support you can offer, no matter how small.
Here's a few ways that you can help me...
Before I go, I have to travel to Luton about 3 times. It's pretty expensive on the train. I have a part time job and I'm saving as much as I can but I'm also studying to pass my A levels next summer. So if you feel you could support me in any way that would be great.
Babysitting! Give me a shout! I'm happy to sit any weekends or some weekdays, but obviously I do work some evenings and have a couple of church comitments. I also can do daytime sitting during school holidays.
I'm also going to be doing a couple of fun events in the new year. I'm looking to do a promise auction in February, so if you can make any promises to be auctioned that would be greatly appreciated. I'm also looking to do a celidh in May. This will be a funfilled night of dancing and food!
Finally, if you feel that you could make a donation towards my trip I would be extremely greatful.

Another way to support what Emily is doing would be to head out to Zambia on a Mission Direct trip yourself - a familiar face is always a welcome sight! We would love to develop our links with Zambia, Michelle Harrison spent several weeks there in the summer of 2008 and we are looking forward to hearing more about what God is doing in this country.
Dates for trips to Zambia in the Summer 2009 are: 4 - 19 July 25 July - 9 August 15-30 August 5-20 September 26 September - 11 October Cost £1395 per person
If you're thinking about going on a trip and would like some help please do get in touch with us.
