How best to plan for events and ministries when using money that has been given to the church?

As we plan the ministry of this community of faith different people have responsibility for different areas and sometimes the money part falls between the gaps. Sometimes we don't know how much it is appropriate to spend on one thing or how to budget properly. How does the part I influence affect the rest? How do we choose between different priorities? How can we avoid duplication and waste? Do we already have supplies, resources or experience I can use? Is what I want to do in line with the leaders' vision?

These are the questions we should be asking as the church grows and as more money is raised and spent.

In order to release leaders and staff to get on with the things they really want to do we are running a training evening on how to work out a budget for an event or ministry, how to get it agreed, how to look after it. Ideas for saving money and for making events pay for themselves.

Who is this for?
If you are responsible for spending any of the Vineyard's money then this is for you. If you organise events or run a team that incurs costs and uses resources then please come. We want to ensure that you have the funds you need to do the business of the kingdom but we also need to ensure that we steward these resources wisely.

Speakers
Ian Dowling (a Wharfedale Vineyard trustee and qualified accountant who oversees our finances)
Anne Button (the Wharfedale Vineyard Administrator and experienced in running the charity's books)

There will be some time on the theory and background and some on practical case studies as well as plenty of time to discuss experiences and share ideas.
