Farnhills to help start a Vineyard in York
From September, Tim, Alison, Jess, Otis, Maddie and Nathan Farnhill will join a team from Hull Vineyard to start a new Vineyard Church in the city of York.
As they leave Wharfedale Vineyard, Tim says "We’ve had a fantastic time at Wharfedale Vineyard over the last five years; it’s an amazing place and we feel very fortunate to have been part of Wharfedale. However, we're also very excited about the prospect of a local Vineyard church and are keen to throw our weight behind it, so, it feels right to be moving on."
During their five years with us, Tim and Alison took on a wide variety of leadership roles drawing on their previous experience in leading a Vineyard church in Preston. When Wharfedale was much smaller, Tim and Alison were part of the "PC&C" group that used to plan all the events. They helped mentor new staff. For a couple of years Tim coordinated the worship teams, helping to integrate the large number of able musicians who joined us in 2005. Tim has led worship at various conferences and led the worship team at Ashburnham in 2007, he also led a series of worship training events for Wharfedale and gave talks at Weekly Worship from time to time. Alison put most of the children's workers through their first CRB check and together they were instrumental in developing kids worship over many years. They have led various housegroups in and around the York area, helped pioneer the first Minicab group, and with Jess and Otis created Soul United, a group for young people in their area. Tim and Alison most recently helped to develop the Funky Bunch band as part of the Week 4 Vineyard Kids activities. For all these contributions, and for the friendship they have offered, we are very grateful to God (and to them!).
About York Vineyard
Until recently, Jonathan Abbey has been one of the Assistant Pastors at Hull Vineyard. Jonathan and Nicki are moving to York this summer, and will form a housegroup with a number of other people in the York area who are keen to see a local Vineyard church. The plan is to start some "gathering" events in the early autumn. Dates and venues are not known yet, but if you would like more information as it becomes available, please email Jonathan.

Come over the edge - York Vineyard Jess Farnhill
Come over the edge The adventure siren calls Come over the edge I'll catch you if you fall Come over the edge The peevish voice begs Come over the edge Be the first of the rest Come over the edge And trust in me Come over the edge Into an unknown mahogony Come over the edge Trust beyond your sight Come over the edge In the splendour of flight Come over the edge Do it for me Come over the edge You could turn and flee Come over the edge And be happy forever Come over the edge Do it, be brisk Come over the edge Our faith - spelt risk
