Bassenfell 2008

Over Feb half term the young people from T4:12 embarked on a journey to the Lake District to spend time together. see some pictures below.

The theme for the week was 'What's your worth?' looking at what our identity is in God, focussing on issues such as friends and family, work and money, and identity. Nik & Maggie Gee, and their girls, came along as Worship Leader and Speaker - they worked really hard and blessed us during the week.

We had a fabulous week having worship, teaching, ministry, workshops that included cooking, art and sports. In the afternoons there were three challenges - Abseil Tree climb and a GPS treasure hunt, A walk on Sail Fell, and a shopping challenge in Keswick. In the evenings, we had a cafe quiz, games with chocolate fountain, movie night and a funny videos night.

Every evening, during the main meeting we had a special Bassenfell News bulletin presented by our very own news anchors, Sarah Byde and Simon Dowling. They gave us very important news updates on the days events.

Valentines day was a very special day at Bassenfell, all the young people recieved a little bag of goodies and the leaders all got a red rose.

There were 3 teams; The Wombles of Gingerton, Sarah's Saints, and The Super Simon Squad. Sarah's Saints won the most team points this year - and so were awarded a free day out.

A massive massive massive thank you goes to the leaders who came with us to serve the young people during the week - it wouldn't have happened without their efforts.

Ian and Joy Revie were our wonderful cooks for the week, as well as doing many other leading jobs.

Nigel Tapp drove one of the mini-buses, took the young people on a walk each day, led one of the teams throughout the week and provided the news team with something to report on each day - thanks Nigel!

Sarah Byde drove one of the mini-buses, led one of the teams throughout the week, and was our best female new anchor!

Simon Dowling ran the sports workshops, led one of the teams throughout the week, and was our best afro wearing, male, news anchor!

Ian Ripping, well what can I say, he helped me oversee the week and did so many jobs I can't even list them! Thanks love!
